We provide a minor surgery service at our Dorchester site for certain skin disorders and ingrowing toenail for registered patients and patients of other local practices.

Dr John Robertson and Dr Michael Lewis provide this service.

A vasectomy service based at the Surgery for patients in the Dorset area. This service is led by Dr Sumit Aggarwal using the 'No Scalpel' method which is popular with patients.

Dr Charlotte Hill and Dr Hazel Robinson hold regular coil fitting clinics for our registered patients, and those from other local practices. This is a service commissioned by Dorset County Council Public Health. 

A contraceptive implant service is available. If you have not had an implant before or require removal or replacement of an implant, please arrange a telephone appointment with our Lead Nurse, Natasha, to discuss this with her.

Regular screening of women, aged 25 to 64 years, to prevent cervical cancer is strongly recommended. The test is simple and painless, and may be carried out at the surgery. If you have not had this test carried out within the last 3-5 years, please discuss this with any of the GPs or nurses.

Contraception Advice Line.

There is a single advice line which gives up to date information on where emergency contraception can be provided and the location of all of the CASH (Contraception and Sexual Health) clinics, with opening times.  For further information phone 0300 303 1948.

We offer flu clinics annually from October to January

You are eligible for flu jabs

• If you are aged 65 years or over or if you are on regular inhaled steroids
• If you have a chronic respiratory disease (including asthma)
• If you have chronic heart disease
• If you have chronic renal disease
• If you are diabetic
• If you have a weak immune system
• If you live in a long-stay residential or nursing home
• If you have a chronic liver disease
• If you are a carer

Shingles is a common condition that causes a painful rash. It can sometimes lead to serious problems such as long-lasting pain, hearing loss or blindness.

You are eligible for Shingles vaccine if 

• you turn 65 after 1 September 
• if you are aged 70 to 79 
• if you are aged 50 and over with a severely weakened immune system

The RSV vaccine helps protect against respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), a common virus that can make babies and older adults seriously ill.

It's recommended during pregnancy and for adults aged 75 to 79

The pneumococcal vaccine helps protect against serious illnesses like pneumonia and meningitis. It's recommended for people at higher risk of these illnesses, such as babies and adults aged 65 and over.

One of the best ways to protect your child against diseases like measles, rubella, tetanus and meningitis is through immunisations.

As well as protecting your own child, you're also protecting others by preventing the spread of disease.

Vaccination clinics are held on the first and third Thursday morning of each month by appointment. 

We are only able to provide vaccinations that are covered under the NHS. Please ask at the Surgery for more details.

It is important to make a travel appointment as early as possible  - at least 6 weeks before you travel - as a second appointment may be required for certain vaccinations.

For additional vaccinations we recommend that you attend a Travel Clinic for advice about your travel destination and your required vaccinations.

District Nursing provides high quality nursing care to individuals in their own homes and residential homes across Dorset. The service works in partnership with patients, their family and carers, primary care, acute care, social care, independent and voluntary sector, specialist community health teams, older persons mental health teams and independent rehabilitation teams.

Health visitors are registered nurses/midwives who have additional training in community public health nursing. They provide a professional public health service based on best evidence of what works for individuals, families, groups and communities; enhancing health and reducing health inequalities through a proactive, universal service for all children 0-5 years and for vulnerable populations targeted according to need.

The Community Midwife can advise on all aspects of ante and post natal care. The midwife visits the Practice every Thursday morning. 

The Midwives are an attached service provided by Dorset County Hospital Foundation Trust respectively.

The PCN Musculoskeletal First Contact Physiotherapists (FCPs) are skilled professionals, equipped to assess and manage individuals aged 16 and above with musculoskeletal concerns. This includes a wide range of issues such as soft tissue injuries, arthritis, and spinal discomfort.

If you have a new MSK issue our Patient Services team will offer you an appointment with the FCP first with the goal of getting a faster daignosis.

The Health and Wellbeing Clinic is a full holistic review for physical, mental and social health.

The PCN team work with our GPs to identify any potential health issues early and provide support for any mental or social challenges you might be facing.

Our Social Prescribers, Kendal, Mel and Mo support our patients with their emotional health and wellbeing needs to enable them to live happier, healthier lives. 

Although a PCN role, thy are fully integrated into our practice teams and can be easily contacted. 

Both the Surgery and the PCN run a number of initiative
