Portesham Patient Group (PPG)

Our patient group was formed in 2016.  The group’s mission is to:

  • To be the voice of the patient
  • To help patients to understand Practice   decisions
  • To assist the Practice with necessary changes
  • To help the Practice achieve patient satisfaction

The group meets regularly at the surgery along side surgery staff.  If you have any suggestions that you would like the PPG to look into, regarding the general health service provided by Portesham Surgery, you can contact the group at the following email address:

(NB the group cannot look into complaints or your personal healthcare issues – you should raise these directly with the practice.  See the complaints page of this website for more information).

The group currently has 8 members representing the main population groups in our practice and two new members soon to join from Abbotsury and Litton Cheney.  They are actively looking for more members, particular from Burton Bradstock, Martinstown or Winterbourne Abbas/Steepleton, and the smaller villages around Portesham, as the aim is to have around 12 members representing each of our villages.  The group meets once a month on Thursdays from 5.30 to 6.30pm and has helped with the autumn flu clinics, hosted “Tea and Chat” sessions for patients and carers, has compiled leaflets of local activities and services, and even has monthly gardening sessions in the Surgery for anyone who wants to help improve our car park borders!

The group members are:

Andrew Bailey, Chair, and Nicola Harrison (Long Bredy)

Jill Askew (Shipton Gorge)

Pip Roper (Portesham)

William Knapman (West Bexington)

Sandy Marshall and Carol Kennelly (Puncknowle)

Elise Ripley (Burton Bradstock)
